Kristina B. Pett is a founding member of Pett Furman PL concentrating her practice in the defense of life, health and disability companies in a wide range of areas. A significant portion of her practice is devoted to defending these companies in suits for benefits governed by either ERISA or state law. She also handles suits involving insurance fraud, bad faith and unfair and deceptive trade practice claims. In addition, Ms. Pett is involved in suits concerning allegations of misrepresentation in the marketing and sale of insurance products. She also represents these companies in suits by agents for, among other things, wrongful termination.

In addition, Ms. Pett also has extensive experience in Title VII, ADA, ADEA and general employment litigation as well as toxic torts, product liability, intellectual property, and other general commercial litigation. She, moreover, has significant trial, appellate and alternative dispute resolution experience in all of these types of cases and is an AV®-rated attorney.

Ms. Pett is a frequent lecturer in a variety of life, health, disability and ERISA topics. She has spoken at the Eastern Claims Conference, the International Claims Association annual meetings and the American Conference Institute. Moreover, Ms. Pett has authored numerous publications on a variety of topics including ERISA and Title VII issues. Ms. Pett is a member of the Trial Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar and a member of the Life, Health & Disability Committee of the Defense Research Institute. She has also served as a regional editor for The Job Description. Ms. Pett has been recognized with an Extraordinary Service Award by one of her Fortune 500 clients.

Ms. Pett is a 1989 cum laude graduate of Temple University School of Law. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the George Washington University in 1985. She is a member of the Florida and Pennsylvania Bars and is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and Western District of Pennsylvania.
